Calling all artists - design a school mural

Posted on: 15th Dec

The School Council and the Sixth Form Diversity group are launching a competition to design a new school mural celebrating cultural diversity. Celebrating diversity allows the sharing of ideas, experiences and the ability to learn from each other. It helps create a more tolerant and understanding community that is accepting of all differences.

The design will be displayed on the side of one of the school buildings so needs to be bold, bright and colourful. You can use any medium you wish, for example drawing, painting, photoshop etc.

Students are advised to have a look at some of the other murals around school for ideas. These include the one in reception, inside Hubble and the 50th anniversary celebration mural in the school hall.

We are also asking students to complete a survey – that can be found on Year Group Team – with information about your family and cultural heritage. We want to hear about what makes you and your family unique.

The closing date for competition entries is January 29. Good luck and we look forward to seeing your entries.
