Posted on: 8th MayYear 13 Leavers’ Day!
Today, we celebrated our exceptional Year 13 students as they marked the end of their journey at The Downs School. It was a day full of laughter and unforgettable memories, a true reflection of the incredible cohort we’ve had the privilege to teach.
Our Year 13s have shown such resilience and determination throughout their time with us. Many joined us in Year 7 and chose to stay on for sixth form, and others joined us from different schools in lower sixth, a choice we are so grateful for. You have contributed so much to our school community, both in and out of the classroom, and have left a legacy of success and curiosity.
Leavers’ Day gave us a chance to reflect on those shared experiences. Tutors and teachers shared heartfelt messages, with a special tribute from Mr Prosser, and of course, there was no shortage of celebration. The costumes were brilliant (as always!) and the atmosphere was one of fun and friendship.
As you prepare to receive your A Level and BTEC results on 15th August and planning to head off to university, apprenticeships, travel or employment, we want you to know just how proud we are of you. You’ll always be part of The Downs School family and we’re right here if you ever need us.
Thank you, Year 13, for everything. We’ll miss you.
With all our best wishes for the exciting road ahead,
All of us at TDS
