We would like to send huge congratulations to Year 13 student Stuart B who won the Decathlon event at last weekend's English Schools Combined Athletics Championship.

Despite difficult conditions, Stuart scored points in each of the Decathlon's events and secured three personal bests along the way. Stuart was then crowned the winner, nearly 100 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Stuart, who trains 6 days a week has ambitions to compete at a future Olympics in the Decathlon event. He is inspired by French Decathlete Kevin Mayer and his passion for the sport.

Congratulations Stuart, enjoy and celebrate your success after all the hard work you have put into your training. Everyone at The Downs School is very proud of your achievement.
