Students showcase their creative talents through ‘Day of the Dead’ competition

Posted on: 6th Jan

Last term the Faculties of Languages and Internationalism gave Halloween a Mexican twist, with a ‘Day of the Dead’ theme, running a competition for students to create their own piece of artwork based on the ancient tradition.

Day of the Dead falls at the beginning of November and is a focus on remembering and celebrating the lives of those people who are no longer with us. We had a high number of entries and were really impressed by the high standards and level of creativity shown by the students.  Just before the Christmas break, Headteacher Mr Prosser viewed the entries, presenting prizes to the winners and commending all those who took part.

Third place was awarded to Seren in Year 8, 2nd place was Rosie in Year 7 and the winner was Ella in Year 8. Each entrant got 50 House points each and the three winners won Amazon vouchers.

Congratulations to all who entered.
