Year 11 Leavers' Day!

Today, we formally said goodbye to our wonderful Year 11 students, a cohort full of energy and personality. Their final day was marked in true Downs School style, with celebration, reflection and a lot of laughing.

Leavers’ Day is always a milestone moment in the school calendar. It is a time to look back on shared memories, achievements and friendships that have shaped the last five years, and to look ahead at the exciting paths that lie beyond GCSEs.

This afternoon, the Year 11s enjoyed a relaxed and joyful send-off with a packed line-up of activities. We had two special films by Mrs Meijboom and Miss Duthie, Tutor speeches, the now traditional shirt-signing session and live music from our incredibly talented students.

But it is not quite over yet. Tomorrow marks the official start of the GCSE exam season, which runs until 20 June. We know just how hard our Year 11s have been working, and we wish each and every one of them the very best of luck. You’ve got this.

From all of us at The Downs School, thank you Year 11 for your spirit, your humour and your contribution to school life. We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what you do next.
