GOLD! We are thrilled to celebrate  Jasmine K's (Y12) Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at Buckingham Palace last week.

Jasmine tells us "I had an absolutely phenomenal day at Buckingham palace were I received my Gold DofE award. This has taken me 3 years to accomplish and I found taking part in DofE incredibly rewarding as it has allowed me to meet new friends and experience things I never would have tried on my own! As well as the many adventures I had in the lake district as part of my Expeditions"

Mrs Miller-Cook, our DofE Teacher "Jasmine has been a fantastic role model throughout her DofE journey, always positive, determined, and willing to push herself beyond her comfort zone. Seeing her receive her Gold Award at the Palace was a truly proud moment. She has set a brilliant example for future participants at The Downs. We have such a popular DofE programme at School, and we look forward to more students going for Gold!"
