Tree Planting December 2025

Posted on: 12th Dec 2025

Thanks to the generous support of the Woodland Trust, and the hard work of our students, staff, and families, we have now planted an additional 800 trees across our site.

On Tuesday 17th November, members of Eco Club, staff, parents, and local council representatives gathered on the boundary of our sports field for a major tree-planting afternoon. In just a few hours, our volunteers planted over 600 young trees, including hawthorn, blackthorn, oak, silver birch, and rowan—species chosen to enrich biodiversity and support local wildlife.

Phase Two of the project was completed at the start of December under rather magical conditions, with brothers Oscar and Matthew Phipps planting late into the afternoon under the moonlight, supported by Mrs Gosling, Mr Garton and Mrs Hicks. Their dedication ensured every final sapling was securely in the ground.

This project forms a key part of our Climate Action Plan and supports our progress towards a fourth consecutive Eco Schools Green Flag. My thanks go to Mrs Hicks, our Sustainability Lead, and to Mr Garton for coordinating this hugely successful effort.
