Posted on: 1st May 2025Our Therapeutic Garden
Our therapeutic garden was created with the support of the local community and is now part of everyday life at the school. It is a practical, well-used space that supports wellbeing, learning and quiet reflection.
The garden includes a pond, a bug hotel, bird feeders, herbs, wildflowers, benches and tables. It attracts a wide range of wildlife and gives students regular contact with the natural world. Classes use the space for enrichment lessons and small group work, while students also visit it during wellbeing sessions when they need time away from the classroom.
The Eco Club are very involved in maintainig the garden and we sincerely thank them for their dedication and knowledge of gardening and welfare of the natural environment.
Staff use the garden as a place to pause during the day, and students value it as somewhere calm and purposeful. It is a shared space that encourages care, attention and respect, both for the environment and for one another.
The garden is a lasting example of what can be achieved when a community invests in the wellbeing of its school. We are very grateful to everyone for pulling together on this project and especailly to Mrs Jarrett for project managing the garden.
