Back to News ListArt Trip to Tate Britain, London
Posted on: 4th Feb 2026Last week, our A Level Fine Art students visited Tate Britain in London as part of their artist research programme.
Experiencing the work with our own eyes was invaluable. Standing in front of the paintings and installations allowed students to study scale, texture, technique and curatorial context in a way that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom. The conversations we had in the galleries were thoughtfu. It was a pleasure to see our students making connections between established artists’ practices and their own developing ideas.
The visit provided inspiration for our Year 12 students as they refine their coursework projects, and it gave Year 13 a powerful stimulus as they develop their externally set assignment.
Opportunities like this are essential in nurturing confident, reflective and original young artists. I was incredibly proud of the maturity and engagement our students demonstrated throughout the day.
