Duke of Edinburgh Silver Assessed Weekend June 2026

Posted on: 23rd Jun 2026

Congratulations to our 54 Year 10 students who have successfully completed their three-day Duke of Edinburgh's Silver Award expedition.

Over three days, students navigated independently, carried everything they needed on their backs, worked as a team, cooked their own meals and camped overnight, all while tackling the challenges that come with long days on foot and unpredictable conditions.

The Silver expedition is designed to stretch young people beyond their comfort zone, developing resilience, communication, problem-solving and confidence. It is often one of the most memorable parts of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, with students discovering just how capable they are when faced with new challenges.

We are incredibly proud of every student who took part for their determination, teamwork and positive attitude throughout the expedition.

A huge thank you also goes to Mrs Miller-Cook, Mr Dunne and our superb staff team who gave up their free time to support the expedition, ensuring our students could enjoy this valuable experience safely. We are also grateful to parents and carers for their encouragement and support before, during and after the expedition.
