Following the Met Office’s upgrade of the weather warning for our area from Amber to Red, we have taken the difficult decision to close the school to students on Wednesday 24 June and Thursday 25 June.
We fully appreciate that short-notice closures can be difficult for families, but the health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff must come first. Given the extreme temperatures, our hot weather risk assessment, high room temperatures, rural site and staffing pressures, we do not believe it is safe to open as normal.
During the closure, students should continue learning from home. Work will be set via Satchel One.
Key dates and information:
- Remote Learning on Satchel One to replace in-school teaching.
- Year 12 Exams rescheduled.
- Free School Meals available for collection before 10.30am (Form to be completed 23/6).
- Year 10 Work Experience at the discretion of parents and business.
- Any booked School trip will be rescheduled.
- Sports Day Postponed until Friday 10 July.
- Bag2School donation drop off moved to 6 July.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Please take care during the extreme heat and follow public health advice to stay safe
