Our GCSE Dance students had a fantastic evening at the Corn Exchange Newbury, taking part in the Young Performers event alongside other local schools.

The group performed a piece inspired by the musical The Great Gatsby, dancing to New Money from the show. It was a stylish, energetic and confident performance, and our students represented The Downs School beautifully.

The evening was also a valuable opportunity for students to experience the wider dance community. As well as performing themselves, they were able to watch other schools in rehearsal and on stage, gaining inspiration from a range of different styles and performances.

A huge well done to Maja, Sienna, Elsie, Gemma, Hugo, Martha, Alex, Halle, Sophie, Amelie, Matilda, Freya, Bella and Flora, who worked so well together and performed with real confidence and commitment.

We are very proud of them all and grateful to the staff who supported the students in preparing for such a memorable evening.
