Back to News ListYear 7 Celebration Morning
Posted on: 9th Jul 2026This week, we held our Year 7 Celebration Awards to recognise some particularly stand-out students in their first year at TDS.
Starting secondary school is a big step. Year 7 students have had to learn new routines, meet new teachers, move around a large school site, take on more independence and settle into a much bigger school community. We are very proud of how well so many of them have embraced this challenge.
To help choose our award winners, we asked teachers across the school to nominate students who they felt had made a particularly positive impression during their first year. The students recognised in these awards have shown our CREARCI values on a weekly basis. These values sit at the heart of life at School: Courage, Responsibility, Equality, Ambition, Resilience, Creativity and Integrity.
Whether through their attitude to learning, kindness to others, contribution to school life, determination in lessons or willingness to try something new, these students have made a strong impression.
We thank our two Year 9 Students for handing out a couple of awards; they remember all too well what it felt like back in Year 7! Our Librarian, Mrs Berger also gave an award to those with a love of reading. She commented 'there were so many who love to read, it was hard to choose!'
A huge congratulations to each of our Year 7 award winners. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow as they move through the school.
