Final places for our SIXTH FORM Open Events:

When we ask our Sixth Form students why they chose The Downs School, the answer is usually the same. They came for the quality of the teaching, and for the chance to learn alongside other bright, curious young people. They chose Academic and Arts subjects, with plenty of super curricular opportunities. We think that combination is what makes a very good sixth form, and it is what we have built here over many years.

Ofsted described our students’ outcomes at A level and in applied vocational qualifications as exceptional. That’s very pleasing to hear, but it is no surprise to us. Our results are consistently strong year after year. Last summer our leavers went on to Oxbridge, to Russell Group universities, to degree apprenticeships and into employment. Others chose a gap year before going on to university.

Our teachers are experienced, knowledgeable and generous with their time. Beyond the classroom, our students take on leadership roles and enrichment, and last year they travelled to Canada and Costa Rica.

We would be delighted to welcome you and your family to one of our open events.
