Last Saturday several students took part in the County Athletics Championships in Reading, with some incredible results for The Downs School, including three victories in the hurdles, javelin and discus events and second place in the shot put and javelin.  

 

We are delighted that our three winners of their individual events, Stuart B, Phoebe H and Sophie W, have qualified for the English Schools’ Athletics Championships.

 

Despite the blustery conditions, the students put in incredible performances, with the following results achieved:

 

Hurdles – 1^st place - Stuart B
Javelin – 1^st place - Phoebe H
Discus – 1^st place – Sophie W   

Shot – 2^nd place – Elliot A

Javelin – 2^nd place - Ben L

100m - 4^th place – Faye S

200m – 4^th place - Toby G

300m – 5^th place – Lucy D

Discus – 5^th place – Saskia D-J

High Jump – 5^th place – Milo B

Discus – 5^th place – Ella C
1500m – finalist – Livvy B
